Sorry for the silence, but as you know my clone has yet to arrive in the mail and I’m still doing the work of 1.5 people. So blogging has fallen along the wayside again. I’ll start posting regular entries as soon as the work gods feel like going easy on me again.
In the meantime I thought I’d share a classic clip I ran across on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. As I may have said before, initially I wasn’t too impressed by the application, but having realised how much stuff they actually have available – some legal, some not – I’ve since reconsidered. In fact I’ve enjoyed numerous trips down memory lane since that epiphany.
Here’s one of them from the Golden Era of Sesame Street:

I was so inspired by the discovery that I took the time to figure out the chord progression and have posted a video of my version to YouTube.
Now just in case there are other doting, guitar playing parents out there who'd like to perform this song for their little ones I'm also including the tablature below. I had originally included it as text, however I quickly discovered Blogspot doesn't like multiple spaces in a row and was ignoring them. So the tab wasn't correct.
Considering I didn't feel like adding a bunch of non-breaking spaces to each line I figured this is an acceptable alternative.
My daughter loves to hear this song played, either by me or the original version. It doesn't seem to matter which. It's a joy to behold too. Being able to watch her dance around the lounge room to something I grew up with is just priceless - and the fact I'm providing the music is even better still.
UPDATE: At the request of a friendly YouTuber I've made a version of this recording available as MP3. [Click here to download it - (1.5 MB)]
